I remember being in the department stores last winter, looking for a classy, dressy coat, and seeing a whole bunch of colorful coats that I loved but couldn’t imagine wearing.
I’m usually a big fan of neutrals for things like outerwear, because I have always felt that neutrals go with more things and I’ve never wanted to have to buy a whole bunch of colors of a coat to go with my wardrobe.
I’ve finally succumbed to the colorful coat and I find that it goes with my winter wardrobe swimmingly.
I don’t wear a lot of color in the winter, and you can’t typically see what is under my coat as far as my top goes. My pants and shoes are usually neutral, so if I do wear color, it’s on the top.
Here are some of our favorite colorful winter coats for this season:
1) Vera Moda Lucy Short Trench Coat
2) JCrew Tall Majesty Peacoat
3) Kenneth Cole York Double Breasted Peacoat
4) Burberry Brit-brushed Wool Coat
Would you wear a colorful coat this season?
Ohh, I love the sea-foam green coat! Like you, I’ve typically stuck with black, navy, or tan coats in the past…but you make a fantastic point in that what’s underneath can’t really be noticed anyway! Maybe I’ll go out on a limb this season and try one out!:-)
I love the aqua coat! Mine is similar to the purple one — that style is really in right now
Still looking for my ideal red coat hoping to find it this season….
Red is really hard to find.
