Crystal Gibson is the Community Manager at Sonic Boom Creative Media. She’s also a writer who enjoys fashion, cupcakes, and mimosas (no wonder why she’s so darling to us). Her tumblr blog, Mimosas in Montauk has quickly become one of my favorite blogs, filled with fashion, witty comments, and relatable posts. Crystal is seemingly fearless when it comes to her writing and chic as heck when it comes to her wardrobe.
I like to think I have an affinity for fashion but my unhealthy obsession with J Crew likely hinders my ability to appreciate the retail scene objectively. In addition to that, my fashion/business icon is Jenna Lyons – do you see how this is unhealthy? I feel like I don’t have a distinctive angle for a blog (the journalism grad in me), which is why I use the hyper-blogging platform, Tumblr, to aggregate any and all that I find appealing. I’ve contributed to Elle Canada, FASHION and HelloGiggles and I am a WMCFW Stylicity blogger. I like to tweet, you should hang out with me @CrystalGibson – I think that is as shameless as I can be.
I am wearing: A navy eyelet pencil skirt, a chambray oxford, the most adorable navy and red striped pumps, too many bracelets to count, a string of pearls and my glasses.
The most versatile item in my closet: My J Crew schoolboy blazer (I have it in every colour)
Beauty must-haves… The entire Dermalogica skincare line, a Clarisonic brush, tinted moisturizer (avec SPF) and lip balm.
One thing every girl should have: Happiness.
What are you listening to right now: I’m in love with Alt-J, Disclosure, Foals… check out my Rdio playlist – since I could go on for days about music.
The one thing I can’t leave the house without: My glasses; I can’t see anything otherwise – seriously.
Favorite place to eat in the city: Pizza Banfi – It’s on Lonsdale (in the heart of Forest Hill). It’s enchanting, delicious and the owner, Nino, will always remember your name! It doesn’t hurt that it is two minutes away from my house.
Ideal Friday night plans: My husband is the most phenomenal cook – an ideal Friday night includes his cooking (if I’m lucky, he’ll make homemade ice cream), a good film and overall quality time with him and my dog.
All time favorite book/movie: Film La science des rêves Book Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs by Chuck Klosterman
