On November 19th, 2014, Hunter celebrated the official opening of its first global flagship store at 83 Regent Street in London. Presenting Hunter’s take on the traditional store opening, the event saw 28 dancers take over the iconic London street with a production inspired by Singin’ in the Rain, Gene Kelly’s famous performance and Hunter’s heritage of protecting from the weather and all terrains.
With the production paying homage to the city, the principle dancers arrived on one of London’s iconic red buses, wearing new outerwear and footwear from the Hunter Original autumn/winter 2014 collection.
The concept for the 5,300ft2 store at 83 Regent Street, led by Creative Director Alasdhair Willis, was developed in collaboration with UK-based retail design consultancy Checkland Kindleysides, and will form the foundation of future retail and shop-in-shop opportunities worldwide. The innovative design takes iconic references from the British countryside and reappropriates them for the urban setting. The store creates a new take on rural architecture and the outdoors, redefined in the spirit of Hunter.
