The Dolby Theater sparkled last night as the star-studded talent gathered for the most important night in Hollywood.
It’s no doubt that an Oscar is the night’s ultimate accessory, but these stars didn’t need a gold statue to kill it on the Oscar red carpet earlier that evening.
The Academy Awards is usually a night for old school Hollywood glamour, with opulent and one of a kind haute couture gowns. However this year I did notice that a lot of stars opted for a more sleek and modern Oscar look. Sleek, classic and elegant- here are my picks for best dressed at last night’s Academy Awards.
Jennifer Lawrence: Dior Haute Couture
The Best Actress winner exceeded all expectations in this Dior Haute Couture strapless gown. This design was the absolute right balance of fabric and sleek style, with a tight hugging waist and flowy train, with a classic up ‘do look. And let us not forget her Choppard jewel necklace that fell along her backline- absolutely spectacular!
Jessica Chastain: Armani Prive
Jessica combined old Hollywood glam with a sleek hugging dress by Armani Prive. The gown’s golden hue looked beautiful against her fair skin. Her classic makeup and simple jewelry made this nominee a red carpet knock out.
Halle Berry: Atelier Versace
The Oscar Winner looked amazing in this stripe and sparkle Versace design. The plunging neckline and long sleeves was the perfect balance of sexy and sophisticated for this Bond girl.
Kerry Washington: Miu Miu
The Django Unchained actress stood out in her coral Miu Miu gown. The color looked amazing against her skin tone, and the gold embroidered detailing elongated her silhouette. A simple and elegant fashion choice that definitely became a fan favorite.
Charlize Theron: Dior Haute Couture
This white simple Dior gown looked fabulous on Charlize. The peplum top to this two-part dress emphasized her waist in all the right places. The starts short pixie ‘do was the perfect accessory for this simple yet elegant look.
Naomi Watts: Armani Prive
Naomi looked so statuesque in this fully sequined out design by Armani Prive. The asymmetrical cutout neckline brought variety to a sea of red carpet dresses, and Naomi most certainly pulled it off. If the bedazzled dress wasn’t enough for you, she also wore 1.5 million dollars worth of Neil Lane diamonds- enough said!
My best-dressed Oscar list would not be complete without a special shout out to the best-dressed couple of the night, Academy Award winner Ben Affleck and his beautiful and talented wife, Jennifer Garner. Extremely proud wife and mother, Jennifer looked ever more amazing in a plum Gucci strapless dress with ruffling on the back, Ben looked extra sharp and handsome in his 3-piece tuxedo suit by the same fashion house.

While I like all of your choices too, my favorite dress last night was the red dress that Jennifer Aniston wore. I thought it was beautiful.
Agreed! I really liked her dress, too
I completely agree with your best-dressed picks! There were so many beautiful gowns on the Red Carpet last night that it’s hard to narrow it down.
