Mackage broke up their fall/winter 2014 collection into fall and winter attire quite literally last night at World MasterCard Fashion Week. As the crowd filed into the runway room, fashion week volunteers created makeshift walls to protect the leaf-filled runway. It was evident that designers Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan truly wanted to convey the feel of fall during our dreary winter.
The collection was what we’ve come to expect (and love) from Mackage: lots of luxe furs, buttery leathers and fabulous accessories. Camo and plaid were splashed throughout the collection, and we were treated to eye-popping hits of fuschia – a refreshing change to the pastel pink we’ve been seeing everywhere lately. We especially loved the leather crop tops (though not exactly practical, but extremely stylish). And while we typically wouldn’t wear open-toed sandals in the fall (though some brave fashionistas opted to show off their pedicured toes at the tents this week), the fur ankle cuffs made them slightly more cold weather-friendly.
Mackage then transitioned to winter with the help of male models-turned fashionable janitors who swept the leaves off the runway as falling snow played on the big screen. The parkas were, of course, lust-worthy (they’re on our wishlist for next winter!) and the cold-weather accessories had us feeling all warm and cozy inside.
