Ride the Historic Streetcar
The streetcars in New Orleans are still actually used as part of the public transit system, and are a very integral part of that system.
They are incredibly efficient to get around the city, and while it’s surprising that the city doesn’t have a subway system or any sort of rapid transit, the bus and streetcar system seems to do the job.
Just riding the street car is an experience in itself. The benches are made of polished solid wood, the cars themselves beautifully antique, and the scenery outside the cars is fascinating.
