They say it takes a village. Well it’s never been more true than the situation surrounding Veronica Mars.
The show was a cult phenomenon, and like all shows with a cult following, got cancelled too soon. Having only been on the air for 3 seasons almost 10 years ago, the show still has a dedicated fan base as it was always did. You want proof? Well, 24 hours ago, Rob Thomas, the shows creator launched a Kickstarter page to get funding for the show. They wanted to raise $2 million dollars in 30 days. They surpassed that amount in less than 11 hours with contributions ranging from $10 to $10,000.
Hallelujah! It’s a green light my friends. I love you all, but particularly the donors among you. #Veronicamars .@imkristenbell

Veronica Mars was about a ass-kicking teen from the town of Neptune, California. It was an extremely well written show with some of the best developed characters, and intriguing plots. It set the bar really high for shows on WB, which is probably why it was cancelled so early. It gave Kristen Bell, Amanda Segfried and many other actors the chance to shine.
Fans have been looking forward to a Veronica Mars movie for years, and looks like that dream is going to become a reality. Shooting is scheduled for this summer with a pending release slated for 2014.
“Life has taken Veronica away from Neptune. In the years since spoiling Keith’s chances to be reelected sheriff, Veronica hasn’t taken a case. But something big is about to bring her back home and back to her calling,” Thomas wrote. “My goal is to include as many of your favorite characters as possible. It is, after all, time for Veronica’s 10-year high school reunion. Keep in mind that the more money we raise, the cooler movie we can make.” – Rob Thomas
And yesterday was any indication, then the $10 million mark is just around the corner.
