The best part about the salon? Scalp massage. The worst part? Choosing a hair color.
Not every hair color will work for every woman. Here are some tips to help you figure out which will work for you.
Consider Skin Tone
Skin tone is one of the biggest factors in considering which hair color will look good on you. Warmer skin tones usually look better with warmer hair colors; generally, if your skin tone is light, your hair can be too.
Consider Maintenance
Some hair colors can be more maintenance than others, like red. Straying too far away from your natural hair color will usually require more upkeep as well, as you’ll have to touch up your roots more often.
Before you choose a color, consider how much work you are willing to put into it.
Consider Eye Color
If you want to make your eyes pop, you can typically do this by changing your hair color. Blue eyed girls can make their eyes stand out by using contrasting hair colors (red, black, even dark brown). Brown eyed women can make their eyes stand out by going lighter in their hair color.
Don’t just consider this factor, though. Even if your eyes pop with a hair color, you may not look your best with it unless you consider other factors.
Try a Wig or Online Simulator
We know what it’s like to have bad hair, so before you make any drastic changes, visit a wig shop or “try on” different hair colors online. You don’t want to end up hating your decision.
