Crochet pieces are cute for Summer, but it all depends on how they’re put together. Wear too much at one time and it looks like a throwback to the 60’s (and not in a cute, retro kind of way). Choose the wrong weave/pattern and chance looking like one of Grandmas’ doilies.
I love the light airy look of a crochet sweater or top over a simple tank, and a crochet dress over a pretty slip. A crochet dress or skirt can also do double duty as a bathing suit cover-up. A wide brimmed hat and tote can be used for the beach, or worn out shopping. Pair cute crochet sandals/wedges with skinny jeans, and a blouse.
The thing to remember with this look is that crochet shouldn’t be worn head to toe – pick one key piece. Do something unexpected and wear a crocheted metal accessory.
