So lately all I’ve been hearing is how Eyelash Extensions are the next big thing…I mean everyone gets them and for the life of me, I couldn’t understand why. My rule of thought on this was, ‘why not find a good mascara to do the trick…it’s the same thing, right?’…boy was I wrong. I was given the opportunity to test out P&H Salon and Spa’s service of eyelash extensions, and I said yes, because I really wanted to see what the fuss was all about.
To prep for this service, I was asked not to wear any mascara for a few days prior. Now, for those that know me, know that I love my mascara! But I abided by the rules and went one step further and was mascara-free for a week. It was tough to do, but I did it! Below is my review of the service, in short, I am in love with my new lashes and highly recommend giving it a try. It doesn’t have to be a monthly occurrence, but if you’ve got a special occasion, or want a new look that makes your eyes pop, this is a great option.
Have you met Jane?
I was welcomed by Jane, my aesthetician for the afternoon who explained the process, answered any questions or concerns I had and let me choose my new mink-silk lashes. We walked through the different lengths, how each one curled differently and also what she thought my own eyelashes could handle. It was a thorough process, which I really enjoyed.
A little more about Jane: A specialist in eyebrow threading and waxing, as well as analysed facials, Jane has five years’ experience as an esthetician. In addition to manicures and pedicures, she also carries out laser hair removal using the most advanced technology.
The Process
So obviously, my eyes were closed the entire time, but Jane explained the process, which is that each mink silk lash would be individually glued to my eyelashes and as my eyelashes fall out in the natural growth cycle, so would the extension. So I laid down and got comfortable. At first, I was trying to imagine what she was doing, but to be honest, I was so relaxed and comfortable, that I fell asleep through part of the process.
Process Time
The eyelash extension process took about an hour.
Price:
A full-set of mink silk lashes costs $120 and when taken care of, last 4-6 weeks.
Before and After:
When I opened my eyes and looked at my lashes for the first time, I really didn’t know what to expect. I looked in the mirror and instantly fell in love with my lashes. What I absolutely loved was that they looked natural. Jane explained that she incorporated both short and long lashes to give me a natural, yet bold look and it definitely worked. I’ve been asked a few times if they are heavy and the answer is definitely not! They feel so natural and light, I can’t even feel them.
How to Take Care of Your New Lashes:
I asked Jane what I needed to do to keep my lashes looking amazing. She said the first thing I need to do is get an oil-free cleanser and avoid using make-up remover. She also mentioned trying to steer clear from excessive rubbing and anything else that may irritate your eyes.
