Its almost that time of year again! The summer long weekend tends to creep up on us before we know it, and even fashionistas take a break from heels to enjoy the sun, beach, and some time with family.
If you are in the shopping mode, however, you should note that there are tons of great places and deals to be had for summer essentials. Here are some tips:
Know your sales cycles: It may sound counterintuitive, but summer products go on sale at the end of March, beginning of April, and Fall clothing comes to shelves end of August. That means that sales start at July and normally go in phases. Sandals, summer schools, bathing suits etc, all go on sale this time of year. Be ready to ponch when you see a great deal pop up.
Know your shades: I normally try not to buy makeup online during the summer as I tan really quickly and my makeup shades ranges throughout the year. I do know, however that I’m my lightest in the winter and 3 other shades the rest of the year. As a result, I pickup the smalles packages for foundation, this time of year as I don’t want to waste any by letting it dry out. The option is to go with something like a tinted moisturizer.
Know you trends: Bright colours are in this summer, and every brand has something really great out there, but before you go crazy and buy 7 different neon pink options, as yourself if you’re going to wear that colour in the dead of winter. Its a waste of money if you’re not! I tend to pick up darker shades when they go on sale in the summer knowing that I gravite towards those when the days aren’t as long.
