Gold for Summer 2016

Every season one metal becomes the trend, and for Summer 2012 Gold has taken the lead. It looks great against every skin tone as it can be shiny or matte, and bright or subtle. I like that Gold can look rich and expensive – even if it’s a faux accessory.

Really, it’s up to the wearer with how bold they want to be.  Gold Lam้ leggings aren’t my style but I would rock a sequin blazer or Gold accessories.

Wearing Gold nail polish is an inexpensive way to be on trend  – without a big commitment. Gold donned nails look chic typing away on the keyboard…carrying a shopping basket…holding a cocktail glass….

Here are some ways that Gold can be introduced into a wardrobe:

Get it:
1 & 2 – Steffen Schraut Silk Top ($233) & Michael Kors Sequin Mini Skirt (ฃ150)
3 & 4 – Alexon Gold Sequin Pashmina (ฃ20) & Forever 21 Layered Bead Bib Necklace ($9.80)
7 & 8 – Essie polish “As Gold As It Gets” ($8) & Aldo Boulger Sandals ($34.98)
9 & 10 – Robbi & Nikki Gold Sequin Blazer ($111) & Hunter Wellies Carnaby Boa Snake – Gold (ฃ100)
Gold is not loved by everyone so I say wear what you like – maybe Silver is more suitable. (My closet and jewelry box have more Silver pieces.)

Get it:
3 & 4 - Aqua Multi Layered Silver Cuff ($44) & Amrita Singh Anacapri Ring ($50)
5 & 6 – Essie polish “No Place Like Chrome” ($8) & BCBG Silver Sequin Foldover Clutch ($58)
7 & 8 – Aldo Haertel Sandals  ($40) & Wallis Silver Sequin Shoulder Tunic ($42)
9 & 10 - H&M Metallic pants ($34) & Melissa Papel in Silver Flats ($88)

Metallics never go out of style – Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, Pewter, Gunmetal Grey, Bronze, etc – so just hang onto the pieces bought in previous seasons, and the trend for each will come around again.
