Vancouver is a stunning city.
Between the gorgeous mountains surrounding the downtown core, visible from almost anywhere with a slight incline in the city, the lush greenery of the Pacific rainforest, and the clean, beautiful streets of the city itself, it’s truly a city worth visiting.
We visited Vancouver for some Boxing Day shopping and what better place to soak up some post-holiday cheer than the historic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver?
The Fairmont is a landmark hotel, which not only resembles a castle but feels like one, too.
Since we love ourselves luxury travel, we couldn’t resist spending the night with the gracious hosts at the Fairmont.
The Fairmont brand is known for it’s luxurious, refined elegance and excellence in customer service and the this Fairmont hotel absolutely delivered.
One of our favorite things was the beautiful, elegant Christmas tree that greeted us as we entered the lobby. Unfortunately we were a day too late, but the tree was beautiful nonetheless.
The shops lining the lobby were the perfect eye-candy as we checked in to our suite:
Which was perfect for our girls night in. We lounged around in the comfortable hotel robes, ordered room service (which was excellent, we must recommend the pizza), and enjoyed the jacuzzi and indoor pool.
The hotel absolutely delivered on their reputation for excellent customer service. We were checked in efficiently, room service was delivered promptly and the staff right down to the Notch8 restaurant staff were wonderful.
The hotel is going through a renovation, but you’d never know it. It was perfectly quiet, which was just what we needed for some post-holiday R&R.
In the morning, we had the pleasure of a quick workout at the hotel gym, which is nicely laid out with ample equipment.
We highly recommend either happy hour or breakfast at Notch8, which is not your average hotel restaurant.
The restaurant is gorgeous – the decor is beautiful and the feel is hip but intimate. Of course, it goes without saying – the food is delicious as well.
