With valentines just around the corner, yes it is actually nearly February which is scary in itself, we have to start considering those gifts for loved ones. Why not take a different tact this Valentines and consider making some wardrobe decisions for the man in your life.
Business dress can always be a tricky menswear subject as plain suits and ties have had their era and for some reason business wear has become as much about style as looking smart and professional.. With this in mind, here is a little helping hand for those tokens of your love this year.
The Shirt and Tie Combination
Sometimes the classics need a little tweaking to help us feel and look better, you ladies out there will know exactly what I mean, and this is just as true for menswear. I have noticed recently that men’s styling has started looking back to bygone eras and WW1 fashion seems to be a major influence. So for my first suggestion I have picked this fabulously stylish, tailored shirt and camouflage tie from UK designers Private White V.C.
This shirt is classic and perfect for any business meeting and will also fit perfectly for those after work drinks. Team with this quirky and retro tie and he will not only look the part but he will also be hitting the military trend head on! Perfect!
The Trousers
Brown is not a colour we would usually associate with business wear, or any clothing really, but trust me it is on its way back and as long as you get the right shade it will leave you man looking sharp!
Now, I am not always a fan of this colour but there are some beautiful shades out there like these trousers from Bottega Veneta’s 2013 S/S show. Ok so this may be massively over budget for the majority of us, but there are plenty of similar alternatives available on the high street. Remember it’s all about the shade and loose fit for 2013!
The Accessories
Like most men, my other half enjoys going to the gym before work, but gym bags can be unsightly and not really suitable for the office. So as a great gift that can also work for business, why not invest in a stylish man bag that can be used for the gym, work and home!
This bag by Cherchbi is perfect in terms of space, design and functionality. Big enough for gym clothes, the newspaper and his lunchbox, what more could any man want? I also like that fact that the neutral colour and design makes this bag look masculine, so you can be assured that he won’t feel awkward carrying it! This bag is definitely an investment piece, but with any designer investment comes a level of quality that can last a lifetime!
Whatever style of business wear you choose just remember that comfort is key, style is great but if he isn’t comfortable in the clothing he simply won’t wear it!
