It’s proven that washing your hair every day is damaging to the hair follicle. There is no doubt about that. The chemicals in shampoo is damaging and washing your hair each and every day strips your hair of natural oils that you need for it to stay healthy.
That being said, nobody likes dirty hair.
Dirty hair turns stringy, it darkens a shade, and it is flat. It’s not flattering on anybody.
Luckily, there are many ways to hide dirty hair.
The Sock Bun
The sock bun gets the hair off of your face and pulls it back into a bun, making the oils a lot less noticeable.
Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo is also not very good for your hair, but in a pinch it will work to make it look less unsavory. It puts a white powder-like substance in your hair which soaks up the oils and makes it look fresh again. It can also add a lot of body.
Use this sparingly as the chemical can dry out your hair.
The Hair Scarf
Hide your roots and get dirty hair off of your face using a hair scarf. It’s cute and nobody will know what lurks beneath.
Braid It
Braids are a wonderful way to hide dirty hair, and it’s one of my oldest tricks. Make sure the braid is pulling back your bangs or any pieces framing your face, as that is where dirty hair is most noticeable.
