So you’re somewhat blind and need glasses or contacts to see 20 feet in front of you. So you need help with how to style glasses. That’s nothing to be ashamed of. Most of us need to wear glasses these days. I, personally, love my glasses, but they are a pain to wear in the summer when I need to switch between regular glasses and sunglasses. I normally wear contacts during the summer, and my glasses in the fall/winter when the sun glare isn’t as intense. Most people, however, have an issue with glasses because they think that it’s somewhat hard to style them, and still look elegant. That’s where they are wrong.
I own 5 pairs of glasses, and stores like SCLO make it that much easier to grab new designer ones online. (Stores that ship internationally are my kryptonite). If you’re in the market to pick up a new pair and aren’t sure on how to style glasses properly, we’ve put together a few outfit posts.
I know that most of you haven’t invested in multiple pairs of glasses, here are suggestions on how to wear the same pair of glasses to work and out on the weekend. When picking out a pair, take note to see if you can dress them up or down.
Note: If you normally wear eye makeup without glasses, you’re going to have to make sure that you increase the intensity to make sure that it’s seen with your glasses on. I find that I tend to limit the amount of jewelry that I wear with glasses, and stick to my pearl earrings and red lipstick/gloss if needed. Bold lips tend to make more of an impact than crazy eye makeup. Also, always look for glasses that fit your face shape. If styled correctly, glasses have a way of adding sex appeal to an otherwise mundane outfit.
