More than 20 musical acts, from various genres of music came together for a triumphant celebration of music. With a musical lineup that was brimming with can’t miss performances, from top to bottom, the buzz about the Way Home Festival had been rising for months.
Indeed the biggest challenge was finding time to eat and drink as there were no dead-spots or throw-away moments. Held at Burl’s Creek, Canada’s largest outdoor event venue, with the capacity for 40,000 people and 40,000 campers. Located at 180 8th Line S in Oro-Medonte, ON. The grounds are a 15 minute drive north of Barrie, off Highway 11 between Barrie, ON and Orillia was the perfect venue for all the fun and festivites.
The festival was so well balanced with all genres of music, there was something for everyone. The weather was cooperative, perhaps even too nice as sunburns were the norm while the music was spectacular. The crowd was friendly and displayed the most wholesome vibes all day.
The can’t miss performance of the day and the Reebok global ambassador Kendrick Lamar elevated the energy of the mostly weary crowd to a daytime high with a rocking an hour and a half performance.
The overall free-spirited nature of the festival made for an extremely relaxing and care-free event, one that this reporter hopes to revisit in the very near future.
