I don’t know about you guys, but this summer has been one of the best of my life. Personally, I think that it’s because I have thrown caution into the wind this summer with my finances but hey, I can’t be spend-aholic all year round. Right, so how can I make sure that I’ll always remember this summer? Like a lot of people, my memory is tied to music and I find that, even years later, if I hear a song that was playing during a particularly emotional time, I will be instantly transported back to that time.
So, here are my top 2012 Summer Songs
1. Summer Paradise by Simple Plan
I spent an entire day looking at lyrics for Summer Paradise. With lyrics like “Take me back to summer paradise” how can this NOT be included on my list? Plus, I said so many good-byes to so many people this summer that “and I can’t believe I’m leaving” makes me tear up each time.
Yes. “Let’s go to the beach”. Every day. And, like I mentioned… “I’mma blow all my money and don’t give two sh*ts”. Oh Nicki.
3. Stay the Night by James Blunt
I had a summer romance and listened to this song every. single. night. “And if this is all we’ve got, then what we’ve got is gold”. Tacky and cheesy and sappy I know.
I spent so much money on long distance this summer just arguing back and forth with (ex)-BF. Le sigh.
“These are the good times of your life”? Yes they are.
Go ahead and ask me the lyrics for summer paradise. I bet I can sing the entire song without looking at the lyrics.
