If Jupiter, Florida isn’t yet on your travel radar, it should be. The laid back seaside town in Palm Beach County is the perfect spot for an easy, breezy escape from winter. Beautiful beaches, friendly people, excellent seafood, and a relaxed vibe that’s easy to embrace make for an unforgettable vacation. Here’s our guide for experiencing the best Jupiter has to offer.
Where to sleep:
There really is no better spot to base yourself in Jupiter than the justifiably popular Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa. The friendly faces that greet you at reception are the first indication that you’ll be well taken care of. Large rooms are welcoming and well-appointed with private balconies that overlook the beach or resort grounds. We recommend the beach view – it’s an amazing scene to wake up to. Free Wi-Fi is a big plus and chocolates with turndown service are a nice perk. The beachfront location makes it easy to get from your room onto the secluded stretch of sand, and the inviting pool area boasts a hot tub, lounge chairs, refreshing fruit-infused water, and extra sunscreen in case you forget your own. There is also a 7500-square good spa to unwind in if you feel the need for a little extra pampering.
What to do:
If you aren’t on the beach, or lounging by the pool sipping fruit-infused water, there are quite a few things to keep you busy in Jupiter. Start with a visit to Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. The museum offers an interesting look at the history of the area, and a climb to the top of the historic 1860 lighthouse offers gorgeous views of Jupiter.
Work your whole body while exploring Jupiter’s mangroves on a paddleboard. A 90 minute tour with Blueline Surf and Paddle Co. is a great way to see the natural beauty that Jupiter has to offer. You can also do the tour in a kayak.
What to see:
Sit back, relax, grab a glass of bubbly and enjoy a Pon Tiki Boat Cruise. They’re a fun and relaxing way to see more of Jupiter from the water if you’re travelling with a group and include all of your beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
Where to eat and drink:
Aside from the beaches, one of the best things about Jupiter is the food. Some of our most memorable meals were at Jetty’s, where your meal comes with spectacular waterfront views; Sinclair’s, the signature restaurant at Jupiter Beach Resort; and Little Moir’s Food Shack, a local favourite with a fabulously quirky atmosphere and ultra-fresh, flavourful fish and seafood. Don’t miss a drink and some live must at the Square Grouper Tiki Bar, a sprawling spot with oceanfront seating and a creative drinks menu.
